Note: You should only select one of the Safe by ADT options if you truly need help. If you select one accidentally and do not need assistance, emergency response could still be deployed to your location.
At Shipt, shopper safety is always top of mind, which is why we partner with ADT to offer safety assistance directly in the shopper app.
In the event that you feel unsafe in a situation, you can quickly and easily connect with an ADT agent through the app. To use this feature, you’ll first need to agree to the ADT terms and conditions. Then, you can proceed to the Help screen and tap Safety assistance. From there, you can select from two options:
- Request a call from ADT: This option lets ADT know that you’d like an agent to call and stay on the line with you until you feel safe. The call will come through with an ADT Security caller ID.
- Request 911 assistance: This option will trigger a silent alarm to let ADT know to dispatch emergency services to your real-time location. ADT will send you a text message letting you know that 911 has been dispatched. If you selected the assistance in error or need to cancel the request, reply back to the text letting them know.

Will I be charged for using this feature?
- The safety assistance feature is free to use, but many emergency services, such as ambulances, have separate costs, which shoppers are required to cover. Your phone’s carrier rates may also apply.
- If you get injured while shopping or delivering, you may be eligible for coverage. For more information, click here.
Are there times when I shouldn’t use this feature?
- You should only use the safety assistance feature for safety-related help, particularly while on a shop or delivery. For all other issues, please contact Shipt Support at 205-502-2500. Our 24-hour support team will be happy to assist you with any non-emergency issues.
