In select metros, shoppers may be able to view an estimated tip amount before they claim the order. Estimated tips are either (1) driven by a customer’s pre-tip (you can learn more about pre-tips here); or (2) when a pre-tip is not available, estimated by Shipt based on various factors including previous tipping history, order history, total items, and/or shopping trends.*
When tipping information is available, you’ll see the estimated tip amount listed next to the estimated pay on the offer card. If an estimated tip is based on a customer’s pre-tip for that order, you will see “estimated tip includes $x.xx pre-tip” on the order detail page before you claim the order.
*Note: Tips are not guaranteed by Shipt. This is just an estimation, and the final tip amount may be adjusted by the customer. Estimated tips are based on various factors, including pre-tips, order history, tipping history, total items, and shopping trends.

FAQs
Is the tip amount that I see on the offer card finalized?
- In metros where we’re testing, you’ll be able to see if a member pre-tipped on the offer card. Customers can adjust their pre-tip up to 2 hours after delivery, so this amount is not guaranteed. Tips are not guaranteed by Shipt.
How long do customers have to tip after an order is delivered?
- If the customer adds a pre-tip at checkout, they will be able to edit their tip for up to two hours after their order is delivered. Customers who don’t choose to add a pre-tip are prompted the next time they open the Shipt app or website to tip and rate their previous shopper., In the Target app, customers have up to 14 days to add a tip.
If an order is canceled after I’ve claimed it will I still receive pay, including the estimated tip amount?
- If an order is canceled before you have started shopping, you will not be paid for that order. However, if an order is canceled while or after you shop for an order, you will still receive a percentage of the original offer payment. This does not include tips. Tips are decided by the customer, and customers are not able to tip on orders that haven’t been delivered.
