The state of Colorado recently passed statewide legislation that requires all app-based delivery companies, including Shipt, to ensure that any person who is offered work on their platform gets a minimum of 60 seconds to review that offer before it is offered to others.
These changes officially went into effect in Fort Collins on 7/25/24 and remaining Colorado metros on 7/29/24.
FAQ
How will offers be determined in Colorado?
- Orders will still be offered based on several factors including but not limited to shopper stats, preferred connections, and current schedule.
- Offers will have a minimum exclusivity period of 60 seconds. This means that you will have at least a minute to review an offer before it becomes available to other shoppers.
What is offer exclusivity?
- Offer exclusivity means that when you are offered an order, you will be the only shopper able to see it for 60 seconds. If you decide not to claim it, it may be offered to another shopper who will also have 60 seconds of exclusivity to review it. If an offer is not claimed, it may be re-offered to eligible shoppers without exclusivity.
Where can I view my exclusive offers?
- Offers in their exclusivity period will be listed under Exclusive to you on the Available orders screen in the app. If you receive an exclusive offer and do not claim it, you may be re-offered the order without exclusivity.
Will I still receive offers for preferred member orders?
- Preferred member offers will still be prioritized, however, you must be on the schedule to receive the offer. Shoppers in Colorado will not receive notifications for preferred member orders when they are not on the schedule.
Will Open metro orders still be available?
- In order to ensure that every offer has an exclusivity period, shoppers in Colorado will need to place themselves on the schedule to review available orders. Open metro will not be available to shoppers in Colorado.
When will orders be offered?
- Orders will be offered based on their delivery window and the hours that shoppers have selected to receive offers.
- In order to ensure an on-time delivery, early-morning orders may be offered out before quiet hours are over (6 a.m.). If you would not like to receive notifications for early morning offers, you can adjust your notification settings.
Why is offering different in Colorado?
- Offering is different in Colorado, compared to other states, due to Colorado law made by the legislature earlier this year (2024). In order for Shipt, and all other app-based platforms in the state, to comply with this legislation, offering was updated to meet the requirements for a minimum exclusivity of 60 seconds per shopper per offer.
