Some non-perishable retailers have 2-hour delivery windows with consecutive (Ex: 12-2 p.m. and 2-4 p.m.) or overlapping times (Ex: 12-2 p.m. and 1-3 p.m.).
In these metros, if you have not started shopping the order by 10 minutes into the 2nd hour of the delivery window, you’ll receive a push notification reminding you to begin shopping as soon as possible. For example, if you’re completing an order with a delivery window of 2-4 p.m. and haven’t started shopping by 3:10 p.m., you’ll receive the reminder. If you do not start shopping after receiving the notification, you’ll be released from the order.
FAQs
Why did Shipt introduce 2-hour delivery windows?
- At Shipt we regularly test new app features in order to optimize our tools and provide a better experience for shoppers and customers. By offering some customers the option to select 2-hour delivery windows, we’re providing them with more flexibility and giving shoppers more time to complete their orders. We’ll continue to keep you updated as we test and learn.
How will 2-hour delivery windows impact pay?
- Just like orders with 1-hour delivery windows, pay for orders with 2-hour delivery windows will be calculated based on Shipt’s effort-based pay model. As always, you’ll be able to review the pay estimate, time estimate, store location, customer address, and item quantity before claiming the order. You can read more about how Shipt’s pay model works here.
How will 2-hour delivery windows impact bonuses?
- Order eligibility for bonuses is based on the delivery window start time. For example, if you’re working towards a bonus with a timeframe of 5-8 p.m., orders will qualify if the start time of the delivery window is between 5-8 p.m.
- In this example, an order with a delivery window of 4-6 p.m. would not count towards this bonus, but an order for 7-9 p.m. would because the start time of the delivery window is during the bonus timeframe.
- Keep in mind that orders must also fulfill other eligibility requirements, like on-time delivery, in order to qualify for a bonus. You can find more information about bonuses here.
How will 2-hour delivery windows impact offering?
- 2-hour delivery window orders will only be offered to shoppers who have added themselves to the schedule for both hours of the delivery window. For example, you’d need to be on the schedule for both 2-3 p.m. and 3-4 p.m. to receive an offer for a 2-4 p.m. order.
How will 2-hour delivery windows impact claims?
- Shoppers will still be able to claim at least 2 orders per hour they are on the schedule.
How will bundling work with 2-hour delivery windows?
- Like single orders, bundles won’t have delivery windows longer than 2-hours.
Which retailers have 2-hour delivery windows?
- Customers will only see the option to select a 2-hour delivery window at retailers that offer non-perishable items.
