Target Textile Drop Spot

From 9/21/26 - 10/31/26, select Target stores in Las Vegas are testing the Target Textile Drop Spot pilot. Target Circle 360 members can leave clean, dry clothing, sheets, and towels on their doorstep to be picked up by a shopper when their Prepaid order is delivered.

When you're shopping a Prepaid order, the customer may let you know they have a doorstep pickup, which you can choose to pick up at delivery. Plastic liners will be available at participating store bagging stations to assist with pick up safety and to keep items sealed during transport. If you're interested, you'll pick up the items and return them to a participating Target within the next hour, or when you go back to the store to complete another order, whichever comes first.

You can politely decline to take the doorstep pickup if you're not interested in participating, the items aren't ready when you arrive to deliver, or you don't feel comfortable taking them.* Rating forgiveness will be available if shoppers are rated poorly due to refusing a doorstep pickup.

When you arrive back at Target, look for the green drop stop bin. Take a photo of the items and complete the Google Form to submit a photo proof of drop off.

For each successful collection and dropoff of unwanted textiles, shoppers will receive $10 in special pay. The payment will be reflected in your Payment history by 11 a.m. the next day. Please note that this pay is not eligible for Instant Pay but will be deposited with your weekly payment on Fridays for work completed the previous Monday-Sunday.

Shopper Message Templates

Consider using the following messaging templates to guide your conversation with customers regarding their doorstep pickup.

Offer Accepted (if customer says they have a doorstep pickup)

  • “Great, I'd be happy to! To keep everyone safe and our bins clean, please ensure the clothes are clean, dry, and in a bag on your doorstep. Once collected, I'll drop them off at the Target Drop Spot bin for you!”

Confirmation of Pickup

  • “I just dropped off your order and grabbed the bag of textiles from your doorstep! Thanks so much for participating in our text. I'm happy that I could help you with your closet clean-out today.”

Offer Declined (if customer requests pickup and you don't want to participate)

  • “Unfortunately, I won't be able to pick up the doorstep textiles today. Thank you for understanding, and I'll be on my way with your regular delivery soon!”

Safety Rejection (at the door)

  • “Your order is being delivered! Regarding the ‘closet clean-out,' I'm so sorry, but I can't take this bag today because it doesn't quite meet the safety or item requirements for our current Shipt and Target doorstep collection test. I'm sorry I couldn't help this time, but I hope you have a great rest of your day!”

FAQs

How much will I be paid to take the unwanted textiles back to a participating Target store?

  • You will be paid $10 in special pay for every successful doorstep pickup and dropoff after completing the Google Form and submitting a proof of drop-off photo. Submissions should be made individually and cannot be grouped together. This pay is not eligible for Instant Pay but will be deposited with your weekly payment on Fridays for work completed the previous Monday-Sunday.

Have Target customers been notified about this test?

  • Yes. Target circle 360 customers have been notified by Target and are aware that they can have textiles picked up through their Shipt Prepaid orders. Keep an eye out for white paper bags promoting the service in participating store bagging stations (see below)! Customers will be encouraged to reuse/refill them with clothes, sheets, and towels.

The customer wants to know what happens to their unwanted textiles. What should I say?

  • You can let the customer know that the clothes, sheets, & towels will be reused, recycled or responsibly disposed of, with the goal of diverting from landfills.

Can I refuse to take the doorstep pickup?

  • Yes. You can reject any of the excluded items, and/or items that are unbagged, visibly soiled, wet, or unsanitary. You can also reject the doorstep pickup entirely if you don't feel comfortable taking it. Plastic liners will be available at participating store bagging stations to assist with pick up safety and to keep items sealed during transport.

What items are excluded from being picked up?

  • Target will not accept footwear, purses, swimwear, and/or rain or snow gear. However, you are not responsible for enforcing this policy.

What do I do with the textiles once they're picked up?

  • It's recommended that you return to a Target store to drop off the unwanted textiles within the next hour, or when you're returning to the store to complete another order, whichever comes first. Once at the store, fill out this Google Form and include a picture of the unwanted textiles in front of the drop spot bin to receive your $10 special pay. A proof of drop-off photo must be submitted to receive payment. Submissions should be made individually and cannot be grouped together.

Is there anything I can use to help protect my vehicle when transporting these items?

  • Yes. Plastic liners are available at Shipt bagging stations in participating Target stores for easy use and an extra layer of protection if desired.
