Shipt strives to cultivate and preserve a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone using the Shipt platform and takes allegations of sexual harassment seriously. Shipt, and in many instances the law, prohibits Shoppers and customers using the platform from committing sexual harassment. The following anti-harassment policy applies to all users on the platform, including Shoppers and customers.
What constitutes sexual harassment?
Shipt does not permit any behavior that may constitute sexual harassment, including the following:
- Unwanted flirting and sexual advances
- Retaliation or threat of retaliation after a negative response to sexual advances
- Visual misconduct like leering, making sexual gestures, or displaying sexually suggestive objects, pictures, cartoons, or posters
- Verbal misconduct like making or using derogatory comments, epithets, slurs, or sexually explicit jokes; comments about an individual’s body or dress; sexually degrading words; graphic comments; and suggestive or obscene requests, messages, or invitations
- Physical misconduct such as touching, assault, impeding, or blocking movements.
Sexual harassment also includes unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or visual, verbal, or physical misconduct of a sexual nature.
Sexual harassment does not need to be motivated by sexual desire to violate this policy, and includes various forms of gender-based harassment, including the harassment of a person of the same sex.
Does Shipt protect against retaliation?
Shipt prohibits any form of retaliation for good faith reporting of incidents of harassment, pursuing any good faith harassment claim, or cooperating in related investigations.
What is Shipt’s reporting process for sexual harassment or retaliation complaints?
Shoppers or customers who believe they have been harassed or subjected to retaliation in violation of this policy should immediately submit a report.
To submit a report, please contact our Support Team via phone at 205-502-2500, live chat in your shopper app, or email at incidents@shipt.com. They will escalate your report to our Trust and Safety Team right away. You may be asked to complete an Incident Report to gather additional details.
Shipt will maintain confidentiality surrounding the investigation to the extent practical and permitted by law. Shipt will also conduct a fair, timely, and impartial investigation that provides all parties with appropriate due process and reaches reasonable conclusions based on the information collected.
Shipt expects all Shoppers and customers to fully cooperate with any investigation conducted by Shipt into a complaint of prohibited sexual harassment or retaliation. Failure to cooperate by a Shopper or customer may result in account suspension or deactivation.
At the close of the investigation, Shipt will consider appropriate options for remedial actions and resolutions. If we determine that the anti-harassment policy has been violated, Shipt will take prompt, remedial action as appropriate, up to and including account deactivation. Shipt will communicate the outcome as soon as possible.
