Alcohol delivery through Shipt is available in select metros for select retailers. Be sure to check which retailers offer alcohol delivery in your area by using the Where Do You Shipt Shop? button in the top right corner of the Shopper Hub to search for your metro!
If a metro is not listed below, alcohol should not be delivered. Alcohol also cannot be delivered if the ID Scan label is not present on the order. If you see a special request for an alcohol item, or the customer requests alcohol via text or call and the ID Scan label () is not present on the order, kindly let them know you are not able to deliver that item.
Alcohol delivery for Prepaid orders from Target or Meijer is only available in select metros.*
*Note: Alcohol is available for delivery on Meijer Prepaid orders in Michigan and Ohio only, and on Target Prepaid orders in CA, FL, HI, IL, KY, MI, MO, NC, TN, and TX metros. Do note that alcohol cannot be added as a special request if the order has not been flagged as an ID Scan order.
Delivering Alcohol in Different States
It is important to note that each metro may have specific legal requirements for alcohol delivery based on state regulations (see below). For example, some states legally require printed permits to be in shopper vehicles when delivering orders with alcohol.
If you are currently alcohol certified and will be shopping in a new state due to travel or a move, please complete the state-specific course to ensure alcohol delivery compliance.

Alabama

- Alcohol delivery is prohibited to college campuses (including dormitories and other on-campus housing), military bases, correctional facilities, high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, daycare centers, places of worship, and ABC licensed premises.
- Shoppers must shop at the store location listed on the order.
- There are legal limitations on the amount of alcohol that can be delivered in a 24-hour period in Alabama. The total amount of beer delivered in any single 24-hour period per customer may not exceed 120 12-ounce containers (the equivalent of 5 cases). The total amount of wine delivered in any single 24-hour period per customer may not exceed 9,000 milliliters (the equivalent of 12 750-milliliter bottles). Shoppers are not able to honor a request for alcohol that exceeds these limitations.

Arizona

- While completing the certification course, you will be asked to consent to a background check to verify your eligibility to complete alcohol orders on the Shipt platform.
- The Georgia Alcohol Delivery Certification is valid for 1 year. To continue receiving orders containing alcohol, you will need to complete the certification and an updated background check each year.

Once you have your decal, take a picture of it on your car and send it to alcoholdelivery@shipt.com to complete the certification process. After this process is complete, you will be compliant with state guidelines to deliver alcohol.

Massachusetts

- Alcoholic beverages must be delivered in unbroken packages or growlers. If an item is damaged during transit, contact Shipt Support for assistance.
- You’re required by the state to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Training from a state-approved provider. You can find a list of providers here. You must complete this training first in order to complete the Shipt Alcohol Delivery course.
- If you’ve already completed the Alcohol Server Training, take the Shipt Alcohol Delivery course, and prepare to upload your Alcohol Server Training permit at the end of the course.
- The state of New Mexico requires all third-party delivery drivers to maintain a copy of the following documents on their person when completing delivery orders containing alcohol:
- A valid driver's license
- New Mexico server permit issued by a state-approved provider
- Third-Party Alcohol Delivery License (available in the Shipt Shopper App on the Order Details page)
