Delivering to Hotels and Resorts

Part of providing excellent customer service is knowing and adhering to hotel/resort delivery policies and making order retrieval simple for members.

Below are some tips for delivering to hotels and resorts:

  • If you see that a delivery address is to a hotel or resort, you may want to set aside more time than usual for delivery and communicate delivery options with the member ahead of time — many hotels and resorts also do not allow delivery directly to rooms.
    • Example: Shoppers are not allowed to deliver directly to rooms on the Vegas Strip. You may choose to reach out to the member earlier than normal and go ahead and set up an accessible hand-off location for the member.
  • Be sure to check with the resort staff if it is your first time delivering to a property. They will help you understand specific delivery policies. This also gives you the opportunity to build a relationship with the resort staff.
  • You should never leave bags unattended — this is especially important in crowded resorts.
  • One way shoppers have found success when delivering to resorts is by labeling bags with the following information:
    • Member's information (first name and room number at the hotel/resort)
    • Number of bags being delivered
    • Item categories (e.g. cold, frozen, dry goods)

Delivering to Private Communities

Some private communities require a pass for entry, even for delivery drivers. In these instances, the shopper will need to coordinate with the member to either:

  • Meet at the entry gate to hand off the order or
  • Have the member contact the Security Desk to arrange for the shopper to enter

Keep in mind some resorts may only accept cash if a pass must be purchased for entry.*
*Note: Shoppers may keep track of these expenses and consult with a tax professional about tax deductions

Delivering to Disney

Disney-certified shoppers are able to claim and deliver orders to Disney properties in Orlando, FL. When delivering orders to Bell Services at Disney properties, make sure to label bags with the member’s name, the number of bags delivered, a detailed summary of what’s in each bag, and then note which bags need to be stored in the refrigerator or freezer if they are being held by Bell Services for the member.* Consider using paper bags to make labeling the order easier.
*Note: The ability to refrigerate items may be limited based on the resort.

These are general guidelines. Some Disney resorts may have different policies. As previously noted, it’s always best to reach out to the resort before delivery.
