Getting ready to shop an order containing alcohol? Here is some helpful information to prepare you for your shopping experience!

How can I get offers for orders containing alcohol items?

To receive and claim orders containing alcohol, you will need to:

• Be 21 years of age or older
• Live where Alcohol Delivery available is available. Click here to review our list of metros and retailers where Shipt can deliver alcohol.
• Become certified for Alcohol Delivery. If you're interested in getting certified and meet the qualifications above, you may email alcoholdelivery@shipt.com to request access to the Alcohol Delivery Certification course for your state.

Orders with alcohol will have a red ID Scan order label. If shoppers claim an order that does not have the ID Scan label, alcohol cannot be added even if Alcohol Delivery is permitted in the metro.

Can I accept alcohol samples or order alcohol for personal consumption while shopping?

No. Shoppers are not permitted to accept alcohol samples or order alcohol for personal consumption while shopping.

Do I have to show ID to buy or pick up alcohol at the store?

Yes. A driver's license, military ID, passport, or state-issued ID that proves you are 21 or older must be presented for all alcohol order transactions.

What do I do if a member special requests alcohol or wants to add alcohol to their grocery order?

You will not be able to honor a request for alcohol on a “dry” order (an order that does not already include alcohol). If a member wants to add alcohol after they have placed a dry order, you may politely let them know they will have to place a new order for that item to be delivered.

What do I do if I have an order including alcohol set for a delivery window when alcohol is unavailable for purchase/delivery?

When you have an alcohol order that’s outside the time when you can shop for and deliver alcohol, you may explain the situation to the member. They have the option to remove alcohol from their order or choose a delivery window when you can purchase alcohol. You may also contact Shipt HQ, and we’ll find a solution on your behalf.
