Below is some helpful information for shoppers to know about delivering to Feeding America.
These orders will be picked up at the Target location listed in the app and delivered to a local Feeding America food bank.*
*These orders are part of a pilot in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Minneapolis.
When do shoppers arrive at the store?
Target requests that shoppers arrive at the store 15 minutes before the delivery window begins—this will ensure shoppers get to the delivery address on time. To determine the amount of time required for pickup and delivery, shoppers can check the drive time to and from the store.
How do shoppers pick up orders at Target for Feeding America?
Target asks that shoppers park in the rear of the Target store and ring the doorbell at the back entrance. Once parked, shoppers can select Arrived at store in the app when prompted.
If no one answers the doorbell, shoppers can call the number listed under the delivery instructions in the app to reach the Food & Bev department and inform the team member that they are picking up food donations as part of a pilot with Shipt. A Target Team Member will let the shopper in and bring them the food donations in boxes. For safety, Target asks that shoppers stand behind the yellow line while waiting for the donation boxes. The Target Team Member will then log the number of boxes that are taken. Shoppers will not be allowed to access the building without a Target Team Member.
Once the order has been received from the team member, the app will prompt shoppers to select Mark as picked up in the app prior to leaving the store.
What do shoppers do if no one is available to receive the Feeding America donation?
At Target and Feeding America’s request, shoppers should make every attempt to contact the Feeding America recipient at delivery. The order delivery instructions will include an on-site contact for shoppers to reach out to if they are unable to locate or access the address. If shoppers are unable to reach the on-site contact and delivery is not possible, the food will need to be disposed of in an on-site dumpster or returned to the Target pickup location for disposal.
What do shoppers do if the Feeding America partner has a problem with the donations?
Shoppers are responsible for maintaining item quality during transportation for Feeding America.
If the Feeding America partner has an issue with the donation box(es), shoppers may politely direct the recipient to contact their Feeding America representative.
