Winter Weather Preparedness

As the chance of snowfall increases, remember to always consider safety first.

  • Give yourself extra time to account for traffic and potentially longer drive times.
  • Consider communicating with the members early. Let them know where you are in the shopping process and if there are any expected delays.
  • If you are ever uncomfortable driving, remove yourself from the schedule. Be on the lookout for communications from HQ in the event of a major storm approaching.
  • Driving in snow and ice tips:
    • Accelerate and decelerate slower than usual.
    • Avoid sudden braking.
    • Increase your following distance.
    • Avoid hills when possible.
    • Be sure all of your windows and mirrors are clear of snow and frost before driving.
    • If you do start to slide, turn your wheels in the direction that the rear of your car is heading.
    • Go slow and steady.

Be prepared for the cold with our Shipt cold-weather gear, which can be found in the Shipt Shop.
