Below is some helpful information for shoppers to know about shopping at Lowe’s Home Improvement.



Do shoppers need to ask for tax exemption?

Yes. The shopper will need to provide the numeric code/phone number visible in the Shopper app.  

For self-checkout:

When entering the tax exemption numeric code/phone number at self-checkout, a pop-up will ask you to enter a PO Number. This step can be skipped by tapping Enter. Next, ask a store associate to approve the tax-exempt sale, and sign your name on the 2nd store receipt that prints out for the associate to keep.* 



Can shoppers use self-checkout at Lowe’s Home Improvement?

Yes, shoppers can use any self-checkout terminal, all normal terminals, and the lawn and garden terminals to check out. 



What should I do if the receipt won't scan in the app after checkout? 

Shoppers will be prompted to scan the receipt after checkout. If you're unable to scan the barcode, you will need to manually enter the invoice number noted on the receipt. 

 


What items are prohibited?

Shoppers cannot deliver gift cards, lotto tickets, fireworks, propane, spray paint (in states where ID is required), and custom mixed paint from Lowe’s Home Improvement. Click here to view the full list of prohibited items for all Shipt orders. 

If any of these items are on an order, shoppers can kindly let the member know that those items are not eligible for delivery with Shipt. If the member requests more information, shoppers may politely recommend that they reach out to Shipt Support for further details.


Are there size and weight restrictions on Lowe's Home Depot orders? 

Yes. Items should not be heavier than 50lbs, and certain products may have quantity limits due to their weight. They should also be no greater than 66" in any one dimension and 50" x 30" x 30" (45,000 cubic inches) in volume. 


Should shoppers use a rewards card at checkout?

No, shoppers should not use a rewards card at checkout. 



Will shoppers need to bag items at checkout?

Shoppers will only need to bag items if a store attendant is unable to assist.



Tips for picking live goods products.

  • Look at condition and quality.
  • Leaves should not be discolored or mottled, and the plant should not have missing or drooping leaves.
  • Plants with excessive leaf damage should not be purchased.
  • Perennials, annuals, and vegetables should be firm and upright - not limp or wilted. 
  • Trees and shrubs should be free from scrapes or damage to the trunk or stems, and there should be no broken branches. 

Can items be returned?

Yes, shoppers can return all items to the store where they were originally purchased.  

Note: Lowe’s Home Improvement has the right to accept or refuse returns for any items.

To complete a return for a Lowe’s Home Improvement order:

    •    Present the original receipt and your Shipt card at Customer Support.

    •    Write the order number on the receipt and take a picture of it after the store attendant has completed the return.

    •    Email the picture to support@shipt.com.

Customers can also return some items purchased through Shipt to their store by presenting the item and their Shipt receipt at customer service for store credit.
