Shopping at Bridge Street Market

Bridge Street Market is a one-of-a-kind store with an emphasis on fresh, local produce and unique offerings from Michigan artisans.

Below is some helpful information for shoppers to know about shopping at Bridge Street Market.

Do shoppers need to ask for tax exemption?

Yes. Once shoppers get to the self-checkout terminal and tap Check Out in the app, they should let the self-checkout attendant know the order is tax-exempt and will need to complete the tax exemption form.
Note: Self-checkout is the only option available at Bridge Street Market. If there is not a self-checkout attendant nearby, shoppers can tap the Assistance button to call someone over.

How are bag fees handled at Bridge Street Market?

After processing the order, shoppers should take a photo of the receipt and upload it to the app, which will then prompt for the bag fee.

Bag fees are generally found on the store receipt. Shoppers can ask the cashier the bag fee total if it can't be located on the receipt. Enter that total and continue processing the order. If no bags were purchased for the order, shoppers should put the fee total as $0 and finish processing the order.

What items are prohibited?

Shoppers cannot deliver tobacco, prescription/behind the counter medication, or gift cards from Bridge Street Market. Click here to view the full list of prohibited items for all Shipt orders.

If any of these items are on an order, shoppers can kindly let the member know that those items are not eligible for delivery with Shipt. If the member requests more information, shoppers may politely recommend that they reach out to Shipt Support for further details.

State Restrictions:

Alcohol products cannot be delivered to college campuses.

Alcohol is sold throughout Michigan at certain times, including 7–2 a.m. Monday through Sunday.

If a member places an order with alcohol during prohibited times, consider politely letting them know the item is unavailable at that time.

Where are the high proof spirits located?

High proof spirits are located behind a separate checkout counter. Shoppers can ask an associate for assistance retrieving the items they need and proceed to the self-checkout area once they are ready to check out.

What should shoppers do if a member adds alcohol as a special request or wants to add alcohol to their order once I’ve started shopping?

Shoppers are not able to honor a request for alcohol on a “dry” order (an order that does not already include alcohol). If a member wants to add alcohol after they have placed a dry order, shoppers may politely let them know they will have to place a new order for that item to be delivered.

Should shoppers use a rewards card at checkout?

No, shoppers should not use a card at checkout. Bridge Street Market does not have mPerks integration at this time.

Can items be returned?

Yes, all items can be returned to the store where they were originally purchased.
Note: Bridge Street Market has the right to accept or refuse returns for any items.

Alcohol Returns

If alcohol needs to be returned, shoppers should notify the Service Desk team member that they have a Shipt alcohol return. The alcohol will be surrendered without a refund and shoppers will need to fill out the Alcohol Return Form.

To complete a return for a Bridge Street Market order:

  • Present the original receipt and your Shipt card at Customer Support.

  • Write the order number on the receipt and take a picture of it after the store attendant has completed the return

  • Email the picture to shoppers@shipt.com

What should shoppers do if a member has an issue with their order from Bridge Street Market?
